Welcome to the new school of Executive Leadership By Darren Anderson

Welcome to the new school of executive leadership and entrepreneurial development (long name, right?) with a population of about 585 students currently enrolled, the school is at a good size and continues to grow. The current principal is this cool guy named Mr. Crook. He’s been working as an overall principal for about 8 years, but since this particular school is new and everything this will be his first year as principal of executive leadership. There’s another important person besides the principal and that’s the dean of students, which would be a chill Mr. Garcia. If you ask him what he does for the students in the school of executive leadership he won’t just give you one answer because he does many things. Some of the main things Mr. Garcia does for the students though, he advocates for them (basically supports and helps them any way possible) He also helps put them in a position to be successful in the future. When the new school surfaced, everyone had the same question “who came up with the idea of combining Global and Business?” well you can thank those important people in central office for that, they wanted to provide more opportunities and choices for the students.

I know you asked yourself at least once, “What’s the meaning behind that long school name, executive leadership and entrepreneurial development?” Well, the focus of the school is trying to design young business owners and entrepreneurs. The intriguing thing that makes the school of executive leadership so unique and different from the other schools in Olympic is that there are two, not one…but two great academies. That’s the academy of finance and the academy of hospitality and tourism. There’s only one thing that is more important than the school itself and that’s the students, so we had to ask the students on their opinions of the new school idea, “I think it was a good idea, it gives you a chance to meet new people instead of seeing the same faces everyday”-Will Presley. There are a lot of great things coming from Executive leadership this year so don’t sleep on them and be prepared for what they bring to the table.

Mr.Garcia at Executive Leadership

Mr.Garcia is the Dean of students at the school of Executive Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development. This is Mr.Garcia’s second year at Olympic , although it is his 12th year working in education. Mr.Garcia likes his job because he “enjoys interacting with all of the students” and that “the staff are great to work with.” As a teacher, Mr.Garcia felt that he was more limited to the student he could work with. Now, Mr.Garcia gets to interact with many more students, as well as seeing and helping more students reach their goals.
The school of Executive Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development is a great place for students to focus on business and tourism. Me.Garcia hopes to see the juniors and seniors get internships so that they can apply their skills to the real world. Business and Global were combined to make this school, however Mr.Garcia says that there is no difference among the students. Mr.Garcia thinks it is great to be a Trojan!
